Check Your Brakes Before Winter
There are a number of tune-ups you should do to prepare your vehicle for winter, including checking your oil and keeping your fluids topped off. One that is often overlooked is checking your brakes.
As roads become snowy and slick, You need to make sure that you can rely on your vehicle to stop when you need it to.
Here are some signs that you need to get your brakes replaced on your vehicle:
- Listen for Squealing – You may hear an occasional squeak when the brakes get wet, and that is not something to be worried about. But when you start hearing a consistent squeal is when you need to get them replaced.
- Braking feels strange – If you notice that your car takes longer to brake than normal.
- your vehicle pulls to one side – Sometimes brake pads wear out at different rates. If they are, you may notice your vehicle is more difficult to control when braking
